Mark steps up

On the 20th September Mark will be joining 52,000 runners taking part in world's biggest half marathon
The Bupa Great North Run.

The course starts at Newcastle Upon Tyne and finishes 13.1 miles later at South Shields, and with timing mats, chips and the results being published straight The Bupa Great North Run routeon to the website for all to see, there really is no chance of cheating!

Mark will be running to raise funds for the RNLI.

"It really is a great cause to run for. If I'm completely honest, I didn't really know much about the RNLI until I entered the run, and after researching them, there's no other charity that I'd rather do this for. I also found out that my Great Grandmother was awarded a medal of achievement from Princess Alexandra for her lifetime of dedicated fundraising for the charity, that's RNLI pretty incredible huh?

What really amazes me about this charity is that the normal everyday guys/girls out there who volunteer for the RNLI are putting their lives on the line to save other people. So please be generous, I have been training very hard.

If you cannot sponsor me then could you at least spread the word via facebook, twitter or email. If you see me running give me a beep!"

Mark SimmonsMark has been training hard over the last few month but now that the race is fast approaching he will be stepping up a bit.

"The more money I can get together, the more motivated I will be! It would be awesome if you could sponsor me, any amount will do but obviously the more the better."
