Capscan - case study
Capscan is a leading supplier of international address management solutions and data integrity services. The business has more than 1800 customers worldwide across a wide range of commercial and public service sectors. In the UK alone there are currently more than 140 different government departments, agencies and local authorities using Capscan products or services.
The company’s flagship product, Matchcode, is a fully functional address management system with very advanced features, making it one of the fastest and most accurate systems available on the market.
Although functional, Capscan’s original website had become dated in style and aesthetics. A dynamic new website was required to replace the existing site to reflect the company’s international branding and positioning and promote the company’s products and services more effectively to existing and potential customers.
Capscan’s directors were looking for a design that projected a modern, progressive company image. With a clear idea of the basic structure, (including embedded flash animations and a consistent user interface) Capscan needed help to make the re-design look as professional as possible.
Clickfire was recommended to Capscan by a supplier who knew the company well and had previously used their services. Marketing Manager at Capscan, Kei Hau, explains: “Clickfire beat fierce competition to win the contract. As well as spot-on costings and great concepts, I like the fact that they are an SME like us, so they understand the needs of SME businesses.”
Director at Clickfire, Paul Manuel, adds: “Capscan is a thriving organisation in a highly competitive market, but its website was failing to adequately reflect that. A fresh, uncomplicated design was required to convey Capscan’s brand values efficiently to visitors."
Manuel continues, “We began by improving control over all elements of the website with our own Swirl 5.0 Content Management System. This allows non-technical staff to easily update the press release, news and case study pages. We also built a database to monitor the behaviour of all registered users and integrated the site with Capscan’s own Matchcode product.”
Hau says: “Clickfire definitely answered every part of the brief. I had some exacting requirements regarding the look and feel of the site, and they translated those thoughts into reality very well.”
Hau concludes: “I was very impressed with the way Clickfire does business. They are friendly, attentive, and took the time and effort to understand our business thoroughly.
“As the saying goes, ‘the devil is in the detail’ and Clickfire certainly got every detail right. We now have a modern-looking, content managed website that provides us with reports so we can check its progress. It’s an excellent shop window that allows us to display product information; offering visitors trial versions of our software to download and customers the ability to try out our online address data capture software.
“The website has been well received both internally and externally. Our technical team like it because it’s so much easier to manage and administer. We’ve had lots of positive feedback from both customers and reseller partners, and our sales people like it because it projects a positive image of the company, providing a solid platform from which to sell.”
